Banff National Park, Alberta

From Calgary, I traveled through Banff to Jasper.  The trip embodied everything that is best about traveling by motorcycle.  I took my time and just poked along to Jasper.

Bear Glacier, Hyder, Alaska

From Jasper, I caught the Yellowhead Highway through Burns and Smithers.  On the way, I had a lightning strike so close I could see the thickness of the shaft and the blue aura surrounding it.  The thunder didn't roll, it was a "BOOMPF" like a truck tire exploding.  This was while the road was climbing over a mountain.  It brought home that you sure sit tall on a KLR 650.
Near Kitimat, I turned north on Highway 37, better known as the Cassiar Highway.  The highway is a mix of pavement and gravel.  A short distance up the highway is the turnoff for Hyder, Alaska.  Bear Glacier is alongside the road near Hyder.
